Radiologic and Laboratory Technician

As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will conduct essential technical procedures to capture radiographic images of various body parts utilizing established radiographic methods. Your expertise will aid physicians in diagnosing medical conditions while ensuring minimal exposure to ionizing radiation.
In addition to radiographic duties, you will be responsible for collecting and processing laboratory specimens, performing fundamental laboratory tasks, and demonstrating a commitment to ongoing professional development. Your reliability and dedication will contribute significantly to the organization's mission and values.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
This role involves working in areas with radiation exposure and potential contact with infectious materials. You will be required to maintain a flexible work schedule and engage in constant physical activity, including the movement of equipment and patients. The ability to independently lift or position up to 25 lbs is essential.
Educational Background:
Completion of an AMA accredited program for Radiologic Technologists is required.
Experience:
A minimum of three years of experience as a staff radiographer is preferred. Familiarity with laboratory procedures and phlebotomy certification obtained during the orientation period is also advantageous. Experience with ICD-9 coding is a plus.
You should possess the ability to operate radiological and laboratory equipment, as well as computers. Proficiency in using specimen collection tools such as needles, syringes, and vacutainers is necessary, along with familiarity with centrifuges and basic laboratory instruments.
Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is mandatory. You must also maintain a current Kentucky Radiation Operators General Certificate from the Department of Human Resources.
