Position Overview: The Manager In Training (MIT) program is tailored to prepare participants for future leadership roles within our home building facilities. The program is designed for early-career professionals to cultivate their leadership skills and gain valuable experience. Upon successful completion, participants will be well-equipped to assume management positions such as Assistant Production Manager, Assistant Materials Manager, Customer Success Manager, or Cost Analyst.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gain insights from seasoned team members across various training areas, learning about processes, procedures, and standards while engaging in hands-on duties.
  • Complete each phase of the structured training program, rotating through assignments that relate to the manufacturing process.
  • Contribute to MIT meetings aimed at enhancing the training curriculum.
  • Engage in facility projects to deepen understanding of the business operations.
  • Participate in sponsor-led initiatives to broaden knowledge.
  • Integrate into the company culture and foster relationships with colleagues and management.
  • Deliver presentations to executive leaders at the conclusion of each training phase.
  • Provide insights to facility leadership regarding learning outcomes.
  • Compile weekly summary reports.
  • Undertake additional projects and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree is required; prior experience in construction is preferred.
  • Willingness to relocate is essential.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Excellent planning and follow-up skills.
  • Effective communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively.
  • Capability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Multitasking skills are crucial.
  • A willingness to absorb extensive information is necessary.
  • Project management experience is advantageous.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment consistently.
  • Effective communication via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Capability to stand, sit, stoop, and crawl for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
  • Work primarily in a temperature-controlled office environment, with exposure to manufacturing conditions as necessary.
Travel Expectations:
  • Travel may be required up to 25% depending on learning opportunities within the program.
