Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Catering Coordinator to join our team at the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and booking our facilities for banquets, meetings, and other related rentals, as well as Club social and corporate functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Event Planning and Coordination
    • Develop and implement event concepts and menus to meet client needs and exceed expectations
    • Coordinate with vendors and staff to ensure seamless event execution
    • Manage event timelines, budgets, and logistics
  • Customer Service and Communication
    • Provide exceptional customer service to clients, members, and guests
    • Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and staff to ensure event success
  • Inventory Management and Scheduling
    • Manage inventory, scheduling, and documentation for catering events
    • Ensure accurate record keeping and reporting
  • Team Collaboration and Leadership
    • Work collaboratively with the Food and Beverage Director and Banquet Staff to achieve department goals
    • Assist in the training of Banquet Staff on event and catering procedures
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent in relevant experience
    • Two or more years' experience in a similar position
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Ability to lift 50lbs and work in a physically demanding environment
Working Conditions

The Catering Coordinator will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to members, guests, and vendors. The position requires the ability to work scheduled hours, including holidays and weekends, and to lift 50lbs.
