Medical Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Care Specialist to join our team at JVM Solutions in Hampton, VA.
Key Responsibilities- Provide general medical care and treatment to patients under the direction of a physician, ensuring seamless continuity of care when the physician is out of office.
- Actively participate in examining patients scheduled for examination appointments, utilizing your expertise to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Ensure operational readiness for emergency care and treatments, guaranteeing that our clinic is prepared to handle any situation that may arise.
- Perform medical evaluations and provide treatments for occupational and non-occupational medicine injuries and illnesses within the scope of our contract effort.
- Conduct physical examinations and implement preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions from the physician.
- Order and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient clinical problems and healthcare needs, recording physical findings and formulating a plan and prognosis based on the patient's condition.
- Collaborate with the physician and other healthcare professionals to prepare a comprehensive patient care plan, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
- Presume drug or other forms of treatment as allowed by current license and/or certification, always prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
- Assist medical and nursing staff with daily workload activities as directed by the staff physician and/or Medical Director.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, adhering to regulatory standards and best practices.
- Support health promotion program activities, contributing to a culture of wellness and preventative care within our organization.
- Participate in continuing education to update knowledge of occupational health and safety, including legal regulations applicable to occupational health and safety.
- A Master's Degree from an Accredited University is required for this role.
- Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) certification is mandatory.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience as a nurse practitioner is necessary, with at least 2 years of clinical experience.
- A current and unrestricted license to practice as a nurse practitioner in the Commonwealth of Virginia is essential.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification from the American Heart Association is also required.
