Job Summary:

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure all production areas and production equipment are cleaned, sanitized, and ready for use at Sabrosura Foods, a leading marketer of Hispanic products sold throughout the U.S.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Observe and adhere to all safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Identify and address product and processing problems in a timely manner, escalating issues to the Sanitation Lead if necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety guidelines.
  • Prepare areas to be cleaned by setting up safety equipment and organizing supplies.
  • Disassemble, clean, and sanitize all production equipment in a timely manner.
  • Clean floors and walls of the production area to maintain cleanliness.
  • Safely operate and understand proper machine operating and adjusting procedures.
  • Monitor, complete, and maintain efficient and accurate paperwork as needed.
  • Contribute to team productivity and plant profitability by maintaining a high level of personal productivity and suggesting work process improvements.

Requirements:

  • Three (3) years of sanitation experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Bilingual English-Spanish is a plus.
  • Able to work off-shifts when necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to use independent reasoning and judgment.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of plant personnel (written and verbally).

Physical Requirements:

  • Moderate degree of physical activity on a frequent basis.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Repetitive standing, walking, bending, twisting, stooping, grasping, climbing, reaching, and moving about the facility.
  • Hearing ability to meet manufacturing facility safety requirements.
  • Works in a high noise area and wears appropriate hearing protection.
  • Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
  • Able to work in a multi-shift environment.
  • Exposed to cold, heat, and humidity.
