Overview
PurposeEnergy LLC is on the lookout for exceptional talent—individuals who possess a strong drive for success, integrity, and a commitment to surpassing conventional standards. Our organization is at the forefront of transforming how food and beverage manufacturers manage organic waste. We aim to harness the vast amounts of organic residuals generated by industrial production and retail grocery sectors, converting them into valuable renewable energy, purified water, and beneficial soil amendments.
Our innovative solutions include the patented Tribrid-BioreactorTM, the most advanced anaerobic digestion technology available for handling complex food and beverage waste streams. This technology not only mitigates waste disposal costs but also generates substantial renewable energy. By working in sustainability, you contribute to impactful solutions addressing resource depletion and climate change, with benefits that extend to future generations.
Position Summary
We are currently seeking a Construction Project Manager (CPM) to lead and oversee the development, engineering, procurement, and construction phases of both new and existing anaerobic digestion projects. The CPM will be responsible for managing project costs and schedules while recommending enhancements for construction and operational efficiency. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to identify and implement value-engineering improvements that align with ROI objectives, as well as supporting the development of top-tier project management practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee anaerobic digestion and energy generation projects throughout the development, engineering, procurement, and construction phases, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
- Lead a team of internal and external experts providing technical support during design, construction, commissioning, and transition to operations.
- Establish and manage an external project team, including key equipment vendors, contractors, and engineers, to execute multiple construction projects efficiently.
- Handle all purchasing processes, including bid document preparation, management of the bidding process, issuance of purchase orders, and cost tracking throughout contract execution.
- Negotiate and manage design-build, engineering, and construction contracts, ensuring clarity in scope, schedule, and cost management while balancing risks with counterparties.
- Oversee project closeout, including managing the transition to operations, completing punch list items, and ensuring accurate as-built documentation.
- Ensure compliance with technical and quality standards for all facilities.
- Maintain a vigilant focus on project budgets, coordinating with finance for invoice processing and budget tracking.
- Provide regular status updates to senior management regarding project progress, capital budget forecasts, and issues impacting key milestones.
- Foster a culture of safety awareness throughout all project phases.
- Assist with technical due diligence in conjunction with operational matters as required.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and recommend improvements as necessary.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing project delivery in terms of time, cost, quality, and safety.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Over 10 years of experience in project management related to the development, engineering, and construction of commercial, energy, or industrial facilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork and collaboration across diverse groups.
- Ability to assess project risks and proactively develop solutions.
- Excellent prioritization skills, capable of thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines.
- Proficient in scheduling tools such as Primavera or MS Project, with the ability to manage critical path priorities.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office, cost management software, and cloud-based ERP systems.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
- Curious mindset with the ability to take calculated risks and adapt strategies as needed.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing business requirements.
- Preference may be given to candidates with experience in industrial-scale wastewater treatment, anaerobic digestion, and RNG facilities, as well as those with advanced degrees in engineering or business.
