Job Title: Senior Controls Engineer

Join Air Liquide, a leading company in the field of advanced materials, as a Senior Controls Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for applying engineering principles to design, program, install, start up, and troubleshoot automated industrial control systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement plant control system hardware, software, and field instrumentation in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Troubleshoot control system hardware and software, and implement corrective actions independently.
  • Participate in Design Reviews and PHAs as a team member or leader.
  • Configure and program PLC, DCS, and SCADA control systems.
  • Work with highly hazardous chemicals at a manufacturing facility.
  • Establish engineering design basis and assist with design documentation for new and existing facilities.
  • Assist with loop tests and interlock tests for new processes and yearly ISO testing.
  • Complete all assigned trainings and tasks.
  • Understand electrical distribution and power loading in industrial control systems.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical, or electrical engineering, or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, including programming PLC/DCS for chemical plant design and operation, and process data collection and distribution.
  • Knowledge and experience of instrument engineering.
  • Candidate should have knowledge of applicable codes and standards for process control hardware and software.
  • Experience with Siemens automation systems hardware and software.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix hardware and software.
  • Ability to develop and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Experience with developing and deploying ethernet-based industrial networks.
  • 15%~20% domestic and international travel for commissioning and support.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Siemens PCS-7.
  • Experience with GE Proficy HMI.
  • Experience with Wonderware and Wonderware Historian.
  • Experience in a rapid-growth environment.
  • Trained in standard procedures for safe gas and chemical handling.
  • Chemical plant operation experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Team player with leadership abilities.
  • Self-starter with the ability to perform well under pressure and continuously changing priorities.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
