About the Role

Civmec Construction & Engineering Pty Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation and Control Engineer to join our team at Balanced Machines. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation and control systems for our mining equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop automation and control systems for mining equipment
  • Program and configure PLC and SCADA systems
  • Test and validate automation and control systems
  • Troubleshoot and maintain automation and control systems
  • Train and document automation and control systems
  • Collaborate and coordinate with cross-functional teams
  • Ensure safety and compliance with relevant standards
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a degree in a relevant engineering field, such as Industrial Electronics and Automation, Electronic, Electrical, Mechatronics, or similar. You will also need to have a minimum of five years of experience in the conceptualization, Front End Engineering Design (FEED), and detailed design of automation and control systems for mining equipment.

Experience with balanced machine projects, such as stackers, reclaimers, and ship loaders, is highly valued but not mandatory. You will also need to be proficient in design, program, test, and commission PLC and SCADA systems, as well as instrumentation, automation, and industrial networking.

Familiarity with relevant standards, particularly AS/NZS 61508, is also essential. Exposure in the Australian mining/mineral processing industry is highly desirable.
