We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist Certified, Labor and Delivery to join our team at CHRISTUS Health. As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Labor and Delivery department.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and maintain aseptic techniques to ensure a safe and sterile environment for patients.
- Assist in preparing patients for surgery, including positioning and transporting them to and from the Operating Room.
- Set up and maintain the Operating Room, including tables, instruments, and supplies.
- Pass instruments and sutures to the physician, and assist as directed.
- Use the physician preference card to ensure accurate setup and preparation of cases.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date preference cards.
- Work effectively as a member of the team to provide excellent patient care.
- Adhere to Universal Barrier Precautions and maintain a safe environment.
- Demonstrate clinical expertise in the use and care of surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of the Surgical Technology program or an accredited LVN/LPN program required.
- 2 or more years of experience preferred.
- BLS required.
- Certification of Surgical Technologist from The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting within 180 days of graduation or LVN/LPN License required.
