POSITION OVERVIEW:

The primary responsibility of this role is to assist in the preparation and serving of meals while ensuring that the kitchen and dining areas are kept clean and sanitary, as directed by the Food Service Director or Cook. Additional tasks may be assigned by community representatives. Adhere to all health, sanitation, and infection control protocols, maintaining the standards set by the community's administration and Dietary Policies and Procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Must be currently enrolled in high school or possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred knowledge of food safety and sanitation principles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate with supervisors, colleagues, and community staff.
  • Knowledge of proper safety and sanitation practices.
  • Flexibility to work scheduled hours as required by the position.
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health and safety of others in the workplace.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in long-term care settings is preferred but not mandatory.
