About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at St. David's South Austin Medical Center. As a PACU Recovery Room Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring a smooth recovery for our patients.
Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care for assigned patients
- Direct and deliver comprehensive nursing care to post-anesthesia and post-operative patients
- Complete an age-appropriate assessment on each assigned patient and create a specific plan of care upon patient arrival
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions prior to transport from Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
- Make rounds to check equipment cleanliness and appropriate storage
- Monitor narcotic and medication control
Requirements
- 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a PACU Registered Nurse (RN)
- Previous acute care experience – preferred
- Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – preferred
- Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License. If Compact License, Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy
