RN - Preoperative/PACU Nurse

POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking a skilled Preoperative/PACU Registered Nurse to join our team at PSN Affiliates. As a Preoperative/PACU Nurse, you will be responsible for implementing the Pre-Op holding record and ensuring the continuity and quality of nursing care for patients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinating registration for patients requiring pre-admission testing
- Managing patients' admission processes to the preoperative department
- Coordinating pre-surgery testing for outpatient surgery and same-day surgery
- Assessing patients' health status in pre-op and ensuring accuracy of identification wristbands
- Ensuring operative and informed consents are in order
- Determining the surgeon and procedure being carried out
- Taking and recording vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedures
- Initiating IVs and ensuring patients are informed about the procedure and attending medical staff
REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Minimum of two years' experience in surgery or completion of specialty class for clinical nurse or PACU RN
- Current Texas Nursing License
- Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider
- ACLS and PAL required
- Current CPR required
