Job Title: Patient Service Representative

Join Charles River Community Health as a Patient Service Representative and play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service to our patients. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all interactions between administration, customer service operations, and patients are professional, helpful, and create a welcoming atmosphere for all community members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide consistently positive customer service to patients and visitors, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Greet and welcome patients, ensuring a warm and welcoming environment.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments, managing patient requests, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Collaborate with medical, dental, behavioral health, and vision providers to inform patients about delays and waiting times.
  • Ensure all patient requests are responded to in a timely manner, including from the patient portal, voice mails left, calls picked up, and walk-ins.
  • Listen to customer feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts.
  • Work closely with the Health Benefits Department to ensure that HB workflows are followed appropriately.
  • Collaborate with the in-house call center to provide seamless customer service.
Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of healthcare experience, customer service experience, and in/outpatient clinical setting.
  • Models exceptional customer service for staff, demonstrating empathy and humility.
  • Ability to problem-solve in the moment and tackle problems with a solution-focused approach.
  • Familiarity with Outlook, Electronic Medical Programs, registration, and scheduling systems.
  • Accurate and responsible when dealing with co-payments, deductibles, and other payment transactions.
  • Experience in diverse cultures preferred, with a strong commitment to promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
  • Ability to learn and keep up-to-date on all medical insurances.
