About the Team

We're seeking a talented Senior Product Designer to join our TikTok UED Monetization Product team. As a key member of our team, you'll work on fast-growing consumer advertising products and innovate new ways to showcase great videos to our users.

You'll collaborate with fellow designers and cross-functional roles to grow, improve, and redesign the product to increase its effectiveness. Your expertise will be invaluable in utilizing qualitative and quantitative studies to collect user feedback, create a deep understanding of our customers, and work cross-functionally with design, product, and marketing teams to meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the understanding of product goals and revenue expectations, designing new solutions and improving existing ones to reach those goals.
  • Develop a strong understanding of social feeds, advertising, and tools that help creators and customers promote their work and products.
  • Create and test prototypes early in the design process to build confidence in a solution.
  • Design high-fidelity UI and UX specs to clearly communicate requirements to engineers.
  • Contribute to high-level strategic decisions with the product team.
  • Apply design thinking skills to other areas of the platform (Research, Marketing, product education, customer success).
Requirements
  • Experience designing and shipping end-to-end products with complex flows, multiple scenarios, and tricky edge cases.
  • Experience working on tooling for ads, monetization, or feed-based products.
  • Proven ability to empathize with and build solutions for users.
  • History of working successfully with PM, Engineering, Research, and other stakeholders to ship high-quality products.
  • Ability to think at a high level about product strategy and vision while maintaining a keen eye for visual UI details.
  • Self-motivated and able to efficiently run with a project without close supervision.
  • Enjoy discussing design in group settings and participating in design critiques and reviews.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in product design settings.
  • Experience or interest in data visualization.
  • Able to navigate ambiguous problems to arrive at a clear product design direction.
  • History of launching 0-1 products.
  • Enjoy solving hard problems and building strong resilience.
