We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Vehicle Development Engineer to join our Vehicle Development Test team at Lucid Motors. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the planning and execution of all vehicle-level development tests to ensure we deliver a quality product that meets customer needs.
Key Responsibilities- Vehicle Ownership and Management: Be responsible for the test vehicle fleet of a program, track and report fleet status to program teams.
- Test Planning and Scheduling: Create vehicle test plans for the program through the entire development process, support collation of program Design Verification/Validation Plan (DVP) test items, and actively field test requests from other teams.
- Vehicle Testing and Issue Reporting: Support all cross-functional teams for gathering test requirements, executing tests, and keeping all relevant stakeholders updated on progress, collect accurate vehicle data per test requirements, and document all test results and create technical reports.
- Mentorship and Organizational Improvement: Mentor junior engineers throughout the vehicle development process and drive organizational or procedural improvements identified through various activities.
- 5+ years of experience in the automotive or relevant industry.
- Experience with vehicle testing on proving grounds and fleet drives.
- A strong understanding of vehicle systems and system interactions.
- A strong understanding of vehicle testing standards.
- Strong data analysis and reporting experience.
- A strong knowledge of automotive testing instrumentation and tools.
- Experience setting up vehicles for specific test requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills coupled with a strong work ethic.
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and resources at the same time.
- Experience testing fully electric vehicles.
- Licensed by an OEM/Supplier/professional authority to drive prototype test vehicles.
- Masters' degree in a relevant engineering field.
