Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly experienced Senior Restoration Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading the development of restoration and floodplain management projects in complex ecological settings.
Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil or environmental engineering, with a minimum of 15 years of experience in concept development and design of stream and river restoration and floodplain management projects. You will be responsible for managing design tasks through design completion and construction, and will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of restoration and floodplain management projects in complex ecological settings
- Manage design tasks through design completion and construction

- Develop and implement innovative solutions to complex environmental challenges
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and develop tailored solutions
- 15+ years of professional experience in concept development and design of stream and river restoration and floodplain management projects
- Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering, or master's degree in civil or environmental engineering if undergraduate degree was not in engineering
- Current professional engineer (PE) license in California, Washington, and/or Oregon, or ability to readily obtain one via comity application based on licensure in another US state
- Familiarity with Western state environmental policy and local permitting requirements
- Master's degree in civil engineering or environmental science with an emphasis on aquatic ecosystems restoration, hydraulics, and/or geomorphology
- Experience as a project manager of floodplain and restoration design or planning projects
- Fish passage analysis and design experience with roadway culverts
- Construction management and inspection experience
- Experience with hydrologic analysis and modeling techniques
- Hydraulic modeling experience (one- and two-dimensional)
- Permit application experience in California and other Western states
- Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD and ArcGIS
- Experience with field data collection and related equipment
