Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Customer Service Representative to join our team in the Utility Billing Division of the General Services Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our utility customers, resolving issues, and ensuring compliance with City policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage delinquent accounts through correspondence and calls, ensuring timely payment and compliance with City policies.
  • Provide assistance with customer inquiries and complaints, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Operate the automatic meter reading (AMR) software and computer, including software functions such as account maintenance and installations.
  • Assist with the planning, initiation, and maintenance of new customer service initiatives, developing marketing strategies and materials.
  • Originate work orders to dispatch crews for service work, complete work orders, and enter diary notes on customer accounts.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; no prior experience necessary, as we will provide training.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in computer software and equipment, including word processing, email, and standard office equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
