Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
  • Provide instructional support in content areas, as directed by the teacher
  • Implement classroom or social behavior management systems, including coaching students to quickly return to school tasks
  • Intervene during crisis situations, including implementation of Pro-ACT and/or CPI
  • Supervise students during class breaks and during lunch
  • Assist students with daily living tasks, such as eating, using the bathroom, and moving between classrooms
  • Participate in recreational activities and model ABA methodologies to increase or decrease targeted student behaviors
  • Maintain accurate records of student behavior, skills progression, and learning objectives
Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • Experience working in a school or treatment setting with students with learning, social, emotional, or mental disabilities
  • DOJ/FBI Live Scan Background & TB Clearance
  • Pro-Act, CPI, and/or CPR certification helpful
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Occasional exposure to dust, pollen, and fumes
  • Requires frequent reaching, handling, sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, running, carrying, and lifting 50 or more lbs.
