Design Engineer

As a Design Engineer at Spirax-Sarco Engineering, you will play a critical role in designing and developing innovative thermal technologies for the world's most challenging industrial heating applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation of design projects.
  • Conduct engineering studies on design for products, associated and subsystem components, and structures.
  • Develop custom procedures as needed and determine feasibility of designing new plant equipment or modifying existing facilities.
  • Prepares or directs preparations of product or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics.
  • Plans and develops experimental test programs and evaluates results.
Requirements:
  • At least 3+ years of related experience and/or training in a related field; a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering is required.
  • Knowledge of PC software applications such as AutoCAD is required; Solid Modeling and 3D Design are preferred.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as heavy equipment mfg., welding technology, control panels with systems-specific pressure vessels, piping, pump, fluid transfer, and heat transfer design experience.
  • Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Experience with mathematical concepts and applying common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • ASME (Section VIII & Section I), PED, ATEX, NEC, NACE, ANSI, and TEMA code experience and familiarity preferred.
