As a Data Engineer, you'll work in our Data Analytics team within the IT department and be responsible for creating datasets for analytical purposes, as well as maintaining a data pipeline. You'll collaborate with our internal business partners to develop detailed designs, functional and technical specifications for business solutions and work with the team to develop standard and custom BI reporting solutions. You'll gain exposure to corporate wide scenarios that require excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively multi-task. In addition, you'll be involved in training business users in effectively utilizing the tools you produce.In this position you will have the opportunity to:Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their analytics needs and deliver comprehensive reports, dashboards, and modelsBuild data aggregation pipelines using Python, Spark, or SQLCreate robust data models and architectures to support analytics initiativesIdentify and implement optimizations to continually enhance query performance, reduce processing time, and increase overall productivityDesign, develop and maintain data pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable ETL processesImplement and maintain analytics systems, data warehouses, or data lakes to store and manage structured and unstructured dataCreate and maintain dashboards, visualizations, and reports using tools such as Active Spreadsheets and Power BI to enable data-driven decision-makingEnsure data quality and accuracy by implementing data validation, monitoring, and error-handling processesWork directly with internal customers to develop more efficient processes and ways to use Business Intelligence applications.Maintain system and application documentation for assigned systems and/or projects.Develop and provide training to end-users on BI applications software.Develop and maintain ad hoc reports.Coordinate with business units and technical staff on IT projects.Interface with vendors and internal customers as appropriate.Assist in maintaining compliance with all audit and SOX initiatives.What do I need to be successful?4+ years demonstrated experience in data analytics, data engineering, software engineering, or a similar roleExpertise in data modeling, ETL development, and data analysisExcellent communication skillsStrong ability in SQL for data extraction and manipulation, and proficiency in data warehousing concepts/toolsExcellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present insights to business stakeholdersFamiliarity with cloud-based data platforms such as Azure Analysis Services and Azure Data Lake for data storage and processingSolid understanding of relevant data governance, data quality, and data security best practicesStrong problem-solving skills, and the ability to think critically and analyticallyKnowledge of ETL processes, data integration, and data warehousing concepts.Experience and working knowledge with data visualization tools such as Power BIAdvanced written and verbal communication skillsStrong project lead and team-based skillsStrong customer-service skillsEducationBachelor s degree in computer science, data science, or a related field.Work EnvironmentThis position will work in our La Vergne, TN officeMust be within a commutable distance to Nashville or willing to relocate to the greater Nashville area
