Senior Heavy Equipment Shop Mechanic

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Senior Heavy Equipment Shop Mechanic to join our team at Thompson Machinery. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for the setup, repair, service, diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and installation of replacement parts on Caterpillar diesel-powered construction equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and analyze mechanical, hydraulic, and electric schematics and wiring diagrams
- Provide high-quality repair service on equipment engines
- Serve customers' needs in a positive, safe, and timely manner
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Diesel engine, construction equipment, and/or truck engine training through an accredited technical school OR relevant military experience preferred
- 5+ years of previous hands-on relevant experience with CAT equipment or similar industrial equipment and/or industrial engines
- 5+ years of experience in diagnostics and troubleshooting diesel-powered construction equipment or truck engines
- Can work five-day work schedules and availability to work overtime or weekend hours as required
- Owns a complete set of basic mechanical hand tools (drives, sockets, and wrenches)
- Possess and maintain a current, valid state drivers' license
