Position Overview

The Client Service Representative for Motor Vehicle Operations is a dynamic role that involves engaging with a high volume of clients daily. Strong customer service skills and the capability to handle substantial financial transactions are prerequisites for this position. This is a full-time role, operating Monday through Friday with potential for additional hours as needed. Please note that this position is not remote and will be conducted in an office environment.

Eligibility Criteria

This role, Client Service Representative for Motor Vehicle Operations, is accessible to all state employees and external candidates.

Job Responsibilities

Incumbents are expected to work efficiently and accurately under pressure while interacting with the public and responding to inquiries via phone. Due to the nature of the job, exposure to various illnesses is a daily consideration. Employees must be adept at managing multiple tasks and prioritizing fluctuating workloads. The role involves dealing with a diverse clientele, including those who may be confused or upset, and requires handling significant amounts of cash.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess a minimum of two years of experience in a customer service capacity, such as in retail, hospitality, or governmental roles, which involved substantial public interaction and regular use of computer systems.

Alternatively, candidates may qualify with four months of experience within the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles, specifically in licensing or registration, while meeting the proficiency standards established by the department.

Special Requirements

As per regulatory requirements, candidates must consent to fingerprinting and a comprehensive background check, which may include criminal, financial, and driving record evaluations. Candidates will be informed of these requirements during the final stages of the interview process.
