Heavy Equipment Operator

At Stella May Contracting Inc, we are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment and possess excellent physical abilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform daily preventative maintenance on heavy equipment, including track cleaning, inspection for damage, and fluid checks.
- Adhere to all prescribed safety practices and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Interpret signals, stakes, and markings to respect plan specifications and safely operate heavy equipment.
- Utilize pedals and levers to control the speed and direction of heavy equipment.
- Install and change attachments using levers and hand tools.
- Perform other labor/operator-related tasks as necessary to assist the crew with job completion.
- Knowledge of controls, methods, and techniques for operating heavy equipment.
- Ability to interpret grade stakes.
- Applicable dexterity, depth perception, and hand-eye coordination.
- Completion of Trenching and Confined Space safety course.
- Competent Persons Certification and Heavy Equipment Training.
- Two years of experience operating heavy equipment in excavating, utility, or other applicable fields.
The following physical demands are representative of the essential functions of this job:
- Must be physically able to operate various machines, tools, and equipment.
- Must be able to work, move, or carry objects/materials.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds of force frequently.
Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature, and noise extremes, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards.
