Position Overview

Turner & Townsend is in search of a skilled K-12 Construction Program Leader to oversee educational projects.

Key Responsibilities :

Collaborate with design teams, contractors, and school administrators to ensure compliance with contract specifications, local and federal regulations, and district policies. Manage all aspects of project management, including budget, schedule, procurement, quality, and risk for individual projects from planning through to completion. Serve as the primary liaison with clients and consultants throughout all project phases. Develop detailed project plans to guide project execution. Formulate action plans to achieve project objectives, adhering to budget and timelines. Employ performance management techniques to monitor project progress. Track project advancement against established goals, budgets, and timelines, providing status updates and identifying variances. Oversee the change control process to manage project modifications effectively. Implement change management protocols to evaluate change requests, provide recommendations, secure client approvals, and issue change orders. Assess change requests for impacts on scope, budget, schedule, quality, and risk, with management support. Facilitate communication between project teams and clients through regular meetings and written updates. Prepare formal reports on project budget progress and other relevant metrics. Ensure quality control by adhering to standards set by Turner & Townsend and the client. Assist in drafting proposals for new projects or modifications to existing ones. Identify opportunities to enhance project management procedures and tools, referring suggestions to management. Play a vital role in project delivery teams to achieve project objectives. Establish and implement effective governance, processes, and systems for project management. Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of project data and documentation. Implement standard risk management practices to identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure timely client invoicing and monitor financial status of projects. Manage financial aspects of projects, utilizing financial systems to track and report on project budgets.

Required Qualifications

Ability to provide strategic advice during project conception, offering insights on approaches to meet client objectives. Strong time management skills to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to high-quality standards. Proven ability to build effective working relationships with clients and team members. Experience as a collaborative team member in delivering specific projects. Identify business development opportunities with existing and potential clients. Familiarity with financial terminology and principles. Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural drawings and contract documents. Working knowledge of MS Project. Understanding of contracts and construction practices. Ensure effective sharing and retention of key information and data.

Education and Experience :

Proven experience as a Project Manager in the design and construction sector, particularly with public-sector projects in K-12 education. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in client-facing roles. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field. Professional registration (PE, RA, AIA) is preferred. LEED accreditation and/or PMP or PgMP certification is advantageous. Membership in relevant professional organizations is a plus. Experience managing stakeholders and working collaboratively in teams. 8-10 years of experience in Owner's Representative or Project Management roles, or equivalent.
