POSITION SUMMARY

The Construction Quality Control Manager (QCM) will leverage their expertise to develop, train, supervise, and manage the company's Quality Control and Quality Assurance initiatives across all construction projects. This leadership role involves collaborating with the On-Site Self Perform Construction Team to ensure adherence to quality standards throughout their projects. Responsibilities include creating, reviewing, and updating Project Quality Plans to guarantee compliance with contractual obligations, standards, methods, and specifications.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Train and mentor team members on all facets of the QA/QC Program.
  • Develop and oversee the Quality Control Plan for all construction endeavors.
  • Interpret complex contract specifications, documents, and architectural/engineering drawings.
  • Analyze and resolve issues by interpreting technical instructions in various formats.
  • Lead internal and external teams in surveying, inspecting, aligning, and documenting QA/QC requirements.
  • Review and approve submittals, process RFIs, and create detailed Daily Activity Reports.
  • Collaborate with team members, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to meet project goals.
  • Communicate effectively with client quality assurance personnel and construction supervisors.
  • Facilitate meetings, present findings, and lead problem-solving sessions.
  • Utilize QCS/RMS software and Microsoft Office Suite proficiently.
  • Prepare data presentations, proposals, reports, and manuals.
  • Mentor Quality Control Specialists and perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends in technology to enhance the QA/QC program.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma/GED with 15 years of QCM experience in the heavy industrial sector, or a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field with 10 years of QCM experience.
  • Valid OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR, and LEED certifications are mandatory.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
  • Contractor Quality Management for Contractors Certification or the ability to obtain it.
  • Experience in QCM on heavy industrial projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in QCS/RMS software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with project management software (Primavera, Microsoft Project).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Requires prolonged walking, standing, sitting, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Regular mental and visual attention is necessary.
  • General office environment conditions.
  • Flexibility to travel more than 50% of the time.
