Position Summary: The Inventory Control Assistant is a meticulous role that aids in managing the Tag Room and various inventory-related tasks. This position operates largely autonomously, necessitating a high level of accountability for completing tasks with minimal oversight. The Inventory Control Assistant will be responsible for receiving, labeling, properly storing, retrieving, and preparing tag-related inventory on a daily basis. Regular engagement with spreadsheets and other software is essential for the effective management of daily inventory operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Retrieves and prepares tags for the Production and Shipping departments.
  • Handles incoming inventory.
  • Conducts basic inventory transactions within the company's ERP system.
  • Identifies appropriate storage locations for inventory and transfers items as needed.
  • Organizes inventory in designated areas and ensures system records are updated.
  • Consolidates inventory and assesses the need for additional space in specific areas.
  • Proactively reviews incoming inventory information to determine if reorganization is necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Office 365 applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Ability to read, understand, and complete data workbooks.
  • Capability to work independently and fulfill tasks without direct supervision.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills across all organizational departments.
  • Strong organizational abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in inventory management.
  • Forklift certification.
  • Familiarity with Metrolina tag terminology.
  • Previous experience with inventory management or ERP systems.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

This position is primarily located in a sheltered area but may require movement between locations and within an office environment for administrative tasks, which involves the use of computers and standard office equipment. Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English is necessary. The role may involve exposure to outdoor elements, including dust and allergens. The position requires the ability to stand, sit, squat, bend, reach, and twist regularly to perform essential duties. Candidates must be capable of operating all necessary machinery within the department and across the facility.

Employees must be able to lift 35 pounds unassisted and 50 pounds with assistance. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, with potential overtime and weekend work during peak periods.
