About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technician to join our team at Providence Alaska Medical Center. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a vital role in delivering patient care during surgery, working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, RNs, and other surgical personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and maintain a sterile environment.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Graduation from a Surgical Technology Program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAAHEP) or other program accredited by the Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist.
  • National Certified Surgical Technologist - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting upon hire.
  • National Tech in Surgery - Certified - National Center for Competency Testing upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
  • 1 year - Operating Room experience for candidates who have graduated from an accredited Surgical Technology Program or have completed other accredited programs by the Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist or completion of a Surgical Technician Military Training program.
  • Experience scrubbing independently in at least three surgical specialties.
