AV Programming Engineer

A leading innovator in control and automation programming is seeking a talented AV Programming Engineer to join their team in Miami, FL. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on some of the most creative and exciting audio/visual/lighting projects out there, from world-famous entertainment venues to cutting-edge media installations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement control solutions for Audio/Visual/Lighting installations, ensuring they meet project specifications and client needs.
  • Participate in the design, development, commissioning, and support of control and network systems.
  • Create custom equipment drivers, control methodologies, monitoring dashboards, interfaces, and graphical user interfaces (GUIs).
  • Plan and lead projects, including systems testing, validation procedures, programming, scripting, and documentation.
  • Store, retrieve, and analyze data to assess system capabilities and requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain control systems to ensure reliable operation within established performance criteria.
  • Provide training and after-sales technical support to clients.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and expectations with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborate closely with team members and clients, sharing details routinely and consistently.
  • Maintain detailed technical documentation to support system operation and client understanding.
Requirements:
  • Experience with advanced control systems programming, especially in environments such as Node-RED, Q-SYS, Medialon, and Alcorn McBride.
  • Proficient in scripting languages such as Lua, JavaScript, and Node.JS.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to convey technical concepts clearly.
  • Experience with networking management, including VLANs, routing, QoS, IGMP, and PTP (certifications are a plus).
  • Knowledge of Q-SYS audio and control systems (certification preferred).
  • Experience with video and presentation systems, including Pixera, RealMotion, 7th Sense, Disguise, and Touch Designer.
  • Familiarity with A/V systems, equipment, concepts, and technologies.
  • Basic user interface development skills, including HTML and CSS.
  • Proficiency with Office365 tools, including Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with NodeRED and related programming workflows is a plus.
  • Familiarity with WireShark for network analysis is preferred.
  • A background in software development with an interest in the AV industry is preferred.
