Adjunct Instructor

The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is seeking a dynamic and motivated Adjunct Vocational Education Instructor to teach Civics courses in our noncredit adult education program. As a part-time faculty member, you will have the opportunity to engage and educate our diverse student population, collaborating with colleagues to develop and implement effective instructional strategies.
Responsibilities- Teach a variety of noncredit vocational workforce training and preparation courses, including workplace computer skills, workforce readiness, job search/retention strategies, and career pathway explorations.
- Prepare course syllabi, present lectures, create supplemental materials, grade and evaluate student learning and progress.
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline, and six semester units in American history and institutions.
- Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college faculty, staff, and students.
- The ability to teach a full range of community college noncredit adult education vocational educational course offerings.
- Previous teaching experience in both noncredit and credit disciplines, and strong collaboration skills to work with interdisciplinary faculty teams to develop vocational programs that bridge noncredit and credit pathways.
The salary schedule for adjunct instructors begins at $85.09 per standard hour. Applicants with a doctoral degree are eligible for a doctoral differential.
