Job Summary

The Production Assistant will work closely with the production team in various aspects of brewery operations, including packaging, cleaning, and maintenance, as well as record-keeping.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Quality Control: Monitor the quality and temperature of fermenting beers.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Perform regular cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Raw Materials Management: Receive and manage raw materials, ensuring timely delivery and storage.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct quality control and assurance testing to ensure compliance with brewery standards.
  • Event Representation: Represent Touchstone Climbing at festivals and events, promoting the company's brand and products.
  • Cooperage Management: Manage cooperage operations, including barrel maintenance and inventory management.
  • Ad-Hoc Tasks: Perform various tasks as required, including draught system maintenance and other brewery operations.
Requirements
  • Fermentation Science Knowledge: Understanding of fermentation science and brewing principles, with a willingness to learn and improve.
  • Time Management and Multitasking: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Forklift Certification: Forklift certification is preferred but not mandatory; training can be provided.
Physical Demands
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to work long hours on your feet, 8-10 hours/day, in a hot, wet, and loud environment.
  • Safety Precautions: Ability to work with and around steam, electricity, and potentially hazardous chemicals and solvents.
  • Physical Abilities: Continual moving, lifting, and manipulation of hoses, buckets, pumps, and other equipment, requiring extended standing, lifting, crouching, and walking.
  • Heavy Lifting: Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs., and push or pull 160 lbs.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Experience working in a brewpub, production brewery, or similar manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
  • Passion for Craft Beer: Passion for craft beer and a willingness to learn and improve.
  • Effective Communication: Effective time management, organization, and communication skills.
  • Education: Degree in Fermentation Sciences or completion of a brewery science program is great but not required.
Compensation

This is a part-time position, working no more than 30 hours per week. Starting pay is $22.00/hour. Production Assistant individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to; facility location and type, membership volume, experience, and job/position tenure.
