Job Title: Public Health Services Manager A

Join our team as a Public Health Services Manager A and contribute to the protection, promotion, and improvement of the health of all people in Florida.

About the Role:

This is a highly responsible public health nutrition supervisory level position reporting directly to the Public Health Services Manager. The incumbent represents the agency along with its mission and values, promoting cooperation, courtesy, respect, and teamwork in a diverse environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate nutrition education for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) in compliance with Federal Regulations.
  • Collaborate with WIC staff to ensure reliable and current nutrition education and the promotion, protection, and support of breastfeeding.
  • Provide direct services to clients, including providing nutrition assessments and counseling to WIC participants, determining nutrition risk/eligibility criteria for program applicants, and preparing high-risk care plans as needed.
  • Supervise staff, including appraisals, planning, and directing their work, approving leave, having the authority for hiring, and taking disciplinary action or effectively recommending such actions.
  • Develop, update, implement, and monitor the policies and procedures of the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC Program) for the Florida Department of Health in Santa Rosa County, ensuring compliance with Federal regulations, state and local policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Dietitian/Nutritionist in accordance with Chapter 468, Florida Statutes, or be eligible to practice dietetics in accordance with Chapter 21M, Section 48.001, 48.002, 48.003, Florida Administrative Code.
  • Must be a licensed dietitian/nutritionist in the state of Florida.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or Food & Nutrition related subject required.
  • Must have a valid State of Florida Driver's License.
