At Evergreen Supported Living, we are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities.

Salary: $21.12 - 24.49 per hour

This position involves providing support and advocacy to clients, helping them to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life. As a Direct Support Professional, you will work collaboratively with our team to create personalized plans that cater to each client's needs and abilities.

About the Job:

  1. You will establish meaningful relationships with clients, understanding their strengths, challenges, and preferences.
  2. Assist clients in promoting independence, learning essential living skills, and adapting to their community environment.
  3. Provide assistance with personal care, home management, meal planning, shopping, and health maintenance.
  4. Utilize Positive Behavioral Support strategies to help clients manage challenging behaviors and achieve their goals.
  5. Interact professionally with family members, guardians, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
  6. Transport clients as needed to support their daily activities and appointments.
  7. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure high-quality care and develop innovative solutions to meet client needs.
  8. Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to our policies and regulatory requirements.
  9. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of (18) years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification in CPR/First Aid/Bloodborne Pathogens/Food Handlers Card
  • Nursing Assistant Registration (NAR)
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
  • A valid state driver's license with no restrictions and a good driving record
  • Prior experience working with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities is preferred
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and ability to learn new concepts quickly
