Personal Care Specialist

Evergreen Supported Living is seeking dedicated individuals to provide exceptional support and advocacy as Personal Care Specialists. This role is ideal for those passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities.
Job Summary
As a Personal Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing quality care and support to our clients, enabling them to achieve greater independence and community integration. Your primary focus will be on promoting client choice, health, and safety, while adhering to policies and procedures set forth by Evergreen Supported Living, WACs, and DDA Policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish Relationships and Support: Foster effective relationships with clients, ensuring they receive instruction, support, and service delivery that promotes their well-being.
- Promote Independence and Learning: Assist clients in acquiring basic living skills, adapting to community environments, and establishing supportive relationships within the community.
- Personal Care and Home Management: Provide assistance with personal care, home management, meal planning, shopping, and health maintenance to ensure clients' needs are met.
- Positive Behavioral Support: Utilize identified strategies in Positive Behavioral Support Plans to promote positive behaviors and address challenging situations.
- Communication and Teamwork: Interact with family members, guardians, extended support teams, case managers, peer providers, coworkers, and the public in a professional and respectful manner, fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
- Transportation and Client Care: Provide transportation as needed to support clients' needs and facilitate quality client care through effective communication and collaboration with fellow staff, program management, leadership, clients, and guardians.
Required Qualifications & Education:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid/Bloodborne Pathogens/Food Handlers Card.
- Nursing Assistant Registration (NAR).
- Ability to proficiently read, write, and communicate.
- Valid state driver's license with no restrictions, proof of good driving record, and ability to be insured through ESL's insurance provider.
- Pass a DSHS background check and fingerprint clearance.
- Complete all required training within the allotted time frame.
- Physically transfer, assist with transfers, and/or lift clients who require physical assistance.
- Reach, stand, bend, and assist clients with physical activities.
- Lift up to 50 pounds at times to assist clients.
Salary Information:
$21.12-$24.49 per hour. Compensation details include competitive wages and opportunities for advancement within the organization.
COVID-19 Considerations:
Evergreen Supported Living prioritizes the health and safety of its employees and clients. All employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to start of employment, including 2 doses of a 2-dose series, or 1 dose of a 1-dose series. Proof of vaccination is required at time of hire.
