Matheny Medical and Educational Center is dedicated to providing exceptional care and an optimal quality of life for children and adults with medically complex developmental disabilities. Our mission is to support individuals in achieving their fullest potential.

Full-Time candidates who are selected will be eligible for a Signing Bonus of $750.00, payable after six months of continuous employment, with an additional $750.00 after twelve months of continuous service.

We are currently seeking Full-Time Paraprofessionals. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring a safe and secure educational environment for all students.
  • Implementing lesson plans in collaboration with the teacher and independently.
  • Serving as an instructional resource and providing support as needed.
  • Carrying out both instructional and non-instructional tasks as outlined in the IEP and directed by the assigned teacher, school nurse, principal, or designee.
  • Participating in IEP meetings with students when possible.
  • Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) such as toileting, feeding, and other assigned duties to support each student's overall program objectives.
  • Collaborating with the classroom teacher to develop objectives tailored to meet the needs of students, fostering an interdisciplinary approach to goal achievement.
  • Maintaining accurate records of individual student progress and concerns, providing valuable insights to assist in program planning.
  • Engaging actively with students in all educational activities under the direct supervision of the teacher.
  • Assuming legal and instructional responsibilities in the absence of the teacher or as assigned.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Educational & Health Requirements

A minimum of 60 college credits is required.

Compliance with the Department of Health Covid Vaccination guidelines is mandatory.
