Astrion, Inc. presents an exceptional opportunity for a Lead Systems Architect to contribute to the Engineering, Professional, and Administrative Support Services contract, specifically within the Air Force Division. This role involves providing systems engineering expertise to the Trusted Systems and Networks (TSN) initiative, which is vital for safeguarding the integrity of the information and communications technology supply chain.

JOB STATUS: Full-Time

TRAVEL: 0%

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
  • Master's degree with 12 years of relevant experience, including 5 years in the Department of Defense (DoD); or 15 years of relevant experience in lieu of a master's degree, with 5 years in DoD; or 20 years of experience without a degree.
  • Current Secret clearance.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
  • Experience in DoD weapon system development or acquisition.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee TSN, program protection, and supply chain risk management evaluations throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Apply TSN and program protection directives as outlined in DoD and Air Force policies across all pathways.
  • Stay informed on all relevant TSN and Program Protection policies, including but not limited to:
    • DoDI "DoD Supply Chain Materiel Management Policy"
    • DoDI "Operation of the Adaptive Acquisition Framework"
    • DoDI "Operation of the Middle Tier of Acquisition (MTA)"
    • DoDI "Urgent Capability Acquisition"
    • DoDI "Acquisition of Information Technology"
    • DoDI "Major Capability Acquisition"
    • DoDI "Operation of the Software Acquisition Pathway"
    • Air Force Instruction 63-101/20-101 "Integrated Life Cycle Management"
  • Ensure the TSN Center of Excellence is updated on all policy changes related to the TSN mission.
  • Conduct evaluations of program portfolios to recommend alternative strategies, enhance systems engineering processes, and ensure compliance with technical specifications.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical documentation that defines and recommends system characteristics, alongside management reports and technical presentations.
  • Validate systems through the development of criteria and procedures, analyzing major engineering systems results.
  • Provide engineering support and technical training for various programs, including acquisition, development, integration, and operations oversight.
  • Engage in program and project risk management activities in accordance with Air Force systems engineering processes.
  • Conduct problem definition, trade space analysis, and cost versus capability assessments.
  • Implement digital engineering techniques throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Adhere to program protection planning guidance to support Air Force programs employing system security engineering methods.
  • Review and assess TSN and program protection documentation as required by DoD and Air Force policies.
