NYU Grossman School of Medicine stands as a premier institution in medical education, dedicated to advancing healthcare through research, education, and patient care. We prioritize equity, diversity, and inclusion, fostering an environment where our talented faculty, staff, and students can excel.

Position Overview:

We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a Senior Speech-Language Pathologist to join our esteemed team.

At NYU Langone's Voice and Swallowing Center, we are in search of a full-time speech-language pathologist specializing in voice disorders. This role is primarily clinical, with avenues for involvement in research and educational initiatives. Our multidisciplinary team, comprising expert laryngologists and speech-language pathologists, is committed to delivering thorough evaluations, diagnoses, and evidence-based treatments for various voice, swallowing, and upper airway conditions. We also cater to the unique needs of professional voice users, including singers, actors, and educators, while actively engaging in research through multiple NIH-funded studies and clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with laryngologists to assess voice, airway, and swallowing disorders, participating in designated in-office procedures.
  • Conduct auditory-perceptual, behavioral, and instrumental assessments of vocal function.
  • Perform flexible and rigid stroboscopy evaluations.
  • Administer treatment for voice and upper airway disorders.
  • Engage in the clinical training and supervision of graduate students.
  • Work alongside the multidisciplinary team to develop educational opportunities, including academic courses and community outreach programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess a MA/MS degree in Speech-Language Pathology, hold a CCC-SLP from ASHA, and have a valid New York State license in Speech Pathology. Continuing education is required for maintaining licensure.

Applicants should have a robust background in evaluating and treating voice and upper airway disorders in an outpatient context, with a preference for 3-5 years of experience. We are also open to candidates who have recently completed a specialized voice clinical fellowship program. Please note that clinical fellows are not eligible for this position.

Additional qualifications include:

  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • State licensure or eligibility for licensure in New York.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred candidates will have NYS Certification as a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD), experience in a multidisciplinary clinic setting, and additional certifications or training related to voice and upper airway therapy.

NYU Grossman School of Medicine is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. We encourage all qualified individuals to apply, regardless of race, color, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, age, religion, disability, military and veteran status, marital or parental status, citizenship status, genetic information, or any other factor that cannot lawfully be used as a basis for employment decisions.

NYU Langone Health provides a competitive salary range that reflects the qualifications and experience of the candidate. This role offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth.
