Job Summary

This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Public Affairs. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the principal point of contact for the manager's staff.

Responsibilities include a full range of administrative support and analytical duties to include budget appropriation, procurement, human resources, information technology, property management, security, and travel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develops and coordinates contract-related documents, including Management Decision Documents, Statement of Requirements Documents, and Evaluation Plans.
  • Responsible for budget, procurement operations, human resources, information technology, property management, security, and travel.
  • Executes liaison activities, conference and meeting coordination, travel arrangements for Senior Leadership, and scheduling meetings, briefings, and conferences for executive and senior Leadership.
  • Plans, organizes, guides, and controls the activities of the office's administrative service programs, including budget, procurement, human resources, information technology, property management, security, and travel.
  • Oversees the administrative operations and performs a full range of highly complex administrative, research, and analytical projects, studies, and analyses.
Requirements

One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in Federal service or equivalent private or public sector experience.

Specialized experience is defined as conducting research projects on management and administrative issues to assess the effectiveness of operations and presenting findings and recommendations to management officials.

Providing administrative support to organizational management, including managing executive schedules, coordinating travel arrangements, and preparing correspondence.

Serving as an advisor to organizational employees on a variety of administrative specialties, including budget and financial management, contracting and procurement, management analysis, human resources, support services, or work measurement.
