Private Asset Fund Accountant

We are a leading investment management firm dedicated to serving our clients' interests. Our team is passionate about delivering exceptional support and expertise to help our clients achieve their goals.

As a Private Asset Fund Accountant, you will play a critical role in our Finance Team, providing accounting and reporting services for our private asset funds. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Validating the work of our third-party administrator, including reviewing calculations of investor capital calls/distributions, reviewing underlying investment fund capital activity, and monitoring fund expenses.
  • Assisting in the preparation of fund and investor-level reports to clients.
  • Managing and maintaining timely records for hedge and private equity holdings using various external pricing resources.
  • Performing timely reconciliations and reports regarding Net Asset Values.
  • Overseeing the cataloging of underlying investment fund documents related to capital calls, distributions, quarterly reports, etc.
  • Reviewing and validating partner allocations and reporting.
  • Managing the cash flow forecast, treasury process, and credit facilities for the funds.
  • Communicating transactions associated with the fund(s) and working closely with internal and external stakeholders to provide accurate and thorough accounting packages.
  • Coordinating and supporting various year-end audit engagements in accordance with GAAP accounting standards.
  • Supporting the third-party tax preparer in the preparation of the annual tax reporting for the funds and investors.
  • Corresponding with external investment managers, administrators, and custodians regarding day-to-day fund activities.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, Economics, or Mathematics, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in alternatives within the fund services industry.
  • CPA certification is a plus.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of portfolio management and reporting systems such as Burgiss Private I or Advent Black Diamond is preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • A team-oriented and inclusive culture.
  • Well-organized and able to complete projects in a dynamic work environment.
  • A self-starter with proven skills in evaluating open-ended requests and developing effective solutions.
  • A curious and critical thinker with exceptional attention to detail.
