Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team at Sevita. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to achieve their goals and live a fulfilling life.
Key Responsibilities- Support Individuals with Daily Living Tasks: Assist individuals with personal hygiene, meal preparation, and other daily living tasks to promote independence and dignity.
- Encourage Participation in Community Activities: Support individuals in participating in community activities, such as shopping, dining, and recreational activities, to promote socialization and community integration.
- Develop and Implement Individualized Support Plans: Work with individuals and their support teams to develop and implement individualized support plans that promote their goals and objectives.
- Provide Emotional Support and Guidance: Provide emotional support and guidance to individuals to help them manage their emotions, behaviors, and daily challenges.
- Collaborate with Support Teams: Collaborate with support teams, including family members, caregivers, and healthcare professionals, to ensure that individuals receive comprehensive and coordinated support.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: No experience required, but a background in healthcare, social work, or a related field is preferred.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a commitment to providing high-quality support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
