Safety and Compliance Specialist I/II

About the Role:
This is a hybrid position in the Agoura Hills location, with remote work options on Wednesday and Friday. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in safety program development and implementation, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Safety and Compliance Specialist I/II to join our team. As an Office Safety Manager, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing our organization's safety programs, policies, and procedures. This includes creating and managing various safety programs, conducting safety needs assessments, leading the safety committee, and maintaining safety records.
Safety Program Development and Implementation:
The successful candidate will create and manage safety programs, including California's Workplace Violence Prevention Plan, conduct safety needs assessments, lead the safety committee, plan and organize evacuation drills, research, create, implement, and conduct safety training for employees, and maintain safety records.
Worker's Compensation (WC) Management:
You will document work-related illnesses and injuries, authorize medical treatment, investigate and analyze incident data to identify root causes and trends, manage the WC claim process, assist with the annual worker's compensation audit, and work with stakeholders to correct hazards.
Health and Wellness:
The ideal candidate will recommend and implement work injury preventative measures, order ergonomic equipment for employees, and assess whether a consultant is needed.
Compliance Recordkeeping & Reporting:
You will maintain Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), OSHA recordkeeping/reporting, governmental safety and Covid reporting, employment posters, and update employee handbooks.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Business or Human Resources, experience developing and managing a safety program in an office setting, and excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You should also have good time management skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with Cal-OSHA and OSHA regulations, HR compliance, and governmental reporting is desirable.
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $25.30-$32.50 per hour, depending on experience. We offer a competitive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth and development.
