Patient Monitoring Technician

The Telemetry Technician plays a crucial role in monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms for patients under telemetry care. This position involves:
- Observing and documenting cardiac rhythms to ensure patient safety.
- Troubleshooting any issues that arise with telemetry monitoring devices.
- Providing basic patient care activities as directed by a Registered Nurse (RN), which includes monitoring vital signs and assisting with daily living activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Report any abnormal findings or changes in a patient's condition to the nursing staff promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in patient rooms and shared areas.
Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
Completion of a basic telemetry monitoring course and/or competency training in basic arrhythmia interpretation is necessary.
Experience:
Prior experience in acute care settings is preferred.
Skills:
This role requires strong critical thinking abilities, sound judgment, and the capacity to work independently. The ability to perform effectively in a high-pressure environment is essential.
Certifications:
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Licenses:
Certification as a Nursing Assistant or higher level Cardiac Certification is necessary.
