Cardiac Telemetry Technician

The Telemetry Technician plays a crucial role in the healthcare team by observing, interpreting, and documenting cardiac rhythms of patients under telemetry care. This position requires troubleshooting of telemetry monitoring devices to ensure accurate readings and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and report on cardiac rhythms of telemetry patients.
- Identify and resolve issues with telemetry equipment.
- Assist in basic patient care tasks as directed by a Registered Nurse (RN), including monitoring vital signs and documenting patient intake and output.
- Support patients with personal care and daily living activities, such as bathing, grooming, eating, and mobility.
- Communicate any abnormal findings or changes in patient conditions to nursing staff promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in patient rooms and common areas.
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Completion of a foundational telemetry monitoring course and/or competency training in basic arrhythmia interpretation.
Experience:
Preferred experience in acute care settings.
Skills:
Critical thinking and decisive judgment are essential. The ability to operate with minimal supervision in a high-pressure environment is required.
Certifications:
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
Licenses:
Nursing Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant, or higher-level Cardiac Certification.
