We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist to join our team as a Medical Safety Clinical Specialist in our Inpatient department. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use of medications in our hospital setting.
Responsibilities- Assure the appropriate selection, dosing, and administration of medication orders in specialized areas, such as nuclear medicine, oncology, and cardiology.
- Provide guidance and support to clinical leadership and pharmacy staff on medication safety and quality initiatives.
- Review and assess medication orders to identify and prevent potential and actual drug-related problems.
- Recommend formulary alternatives and compound and dispense medications as needed.
- Communicate with physicians and other clinicians to facilitate care and provide patient counseling as required.
- Pharmacist licensure from the Maryland Board of Pharmacy.
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy.
- At least 3 years of experience in medication safety specialty practice with familiarity of institutional pharmacy services and medication safety regulatory and legal requirements.
- Advanced study in pharmacy or a health care-related field.
- Pharmacy residency or comparable work experience.
- Working knowledge of Pyxis/Pyxis ES, Sentri 7, and Meditech with sterile compounding, antimicrobial stewardship, and pharmacokinetic dosing experience.
