Job Description

The Crisis Respite Program Counselor will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide ongoing assessment, crisis stabilization, engagement, monitoring, and supporting short-term case management services to homeless and mentally ill adults. Key responsibilities include monitoring and maintaining safety and cleanliness of CRP client rooms, common room, and team office. The candidate will consult with other staff and outside agencies as needed regarding client issues and needs and promote personal and environmental cleanliness among clients.

Living Conditions

The Crisis Respite Program Counselor will support clients with achieving and maintaining healthy living conditions. This includes attending care conferences related to living conditions, outreaching and supporting clients in their residential units, coordinating with housing staff, participating in cleaning out clients' units, and documenting barriers to maintaining healthy living conditions.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need at least 6 months' experience in human services, preferably working with homeless adults, the economically disadvantaged, mentally ill, or chemically dependent. A basic understanding of homelessness and various characteristics of homeless adult population is essential. The ability to communicate and work effectively with staff from various backgrounds is crucial. You must also be able to work effectively with clients displaying a wide range of unpleasant and/or bizarre behaviors.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of $30.50 - $33.69 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, life, and long-term disability insurance.
