Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a highly-skilled Circulating Nurse to join our team in the Operating Room. As a Circulating Nurse, you will provide excellent patient care to individuals during operative and invasive procedures. You will work with other members of the team to ensure the operating room is adequately prepared for procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general nursing duties and be competent in all OR procedures as verified by specific competencies.
  • Facilitate smooth and efficient room turnover and patient flow.
  • Complete all paperwork and computer charting to ensure accurate and timely charting and patient charges occur.
  • Anticipate and meet the needs of the surgeon.
  • Ensure Pre-op Checklist is complete before patient is taken into surgical suite.
  • Be consistently ready and prepared for assigned cases.
  • Respond appropriately to the patient in an emergency or physically distressful situation.
  • Facilitate communications between patient, surgeon, and OR staff and family and other departments as needed.
  • Give a thorough report of patient's intraoperative condition to PACU nurse.
  • Follow patient and employee safety/security policies and protocols.

Requirements:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Registered Nurse.
  • Associate Degree or Bachelors Degree.
  • 2+ years OR RN experience.
