Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operating Room Nurse to join our team at Timpanogos Regional Hospital. As a Circulating Nurse, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical suites and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide general nursing duties and be competent in all OR procedures as verified by specific competencies.
  • Facilitate smooth and efficient room turnover and patient flow.
  • Complete all paperwork and computer charting to ensure accurate and timely charting and patient charges occur.
  • Anticipate and meet the needs of the surgeon.
  • Ensure Pre-op Checklist is complete (H&P present, informed consent signed, test results present, etc.) before patient is taken into surgical suite.
  • Be consistently ready and prepared for assigned cases.
  • Respond appropriately to the patient in an emergency or physically distressful situation.
  • Facilitate communications between patient, surgeon, and OR staff and family and other departments as needed.
  • Give a thorough report of patient's intraoperative condition to PACU nurse.
  • Follow patient and employee safety/security policies and protocols, including hand hygiene, use of universal precautions, use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to isolation procedures.
  • Act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure.
Requirements
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Registered Nurse.
  • Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree.
  • 2+ years OR RN experience.
