Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Admissions Specialist to join our team at Acadia Healthcare. As a key member of our admissions team, you will be responsible for facilitating the admission and assessment processes for incoming patients, ensuring seamless communication between our organization and patient referrals and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate Admissions and Assessment Processes: Coordinate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure timely and efficient admissions.
  • Respond to Inquiries: Provide prompt and accurate responses to patient and family inquiries within facility policy timeframes.
  • Schedule Pre-Admission Assessments: Coordinate and complete pre-admission assessments, communicating recommendations to patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with Medical and Psychiatric Personnel: Work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate recommendations and admissions.
  • Coordinate Admission and Transfer: Facilitate smooth transitions between levels of care within the facility.
  • Communicate Projected Admissions: Provide timely updates to designated internal representatives.
  • Perform Insurance Benefit Verifications: Verify insurance benefits, disseminating information to patients, families, and facility staff.
  • Ensure Medical Admission Documentation: Gather and secure necessary documentation prior to patient admission.
  • Assist with Concurrent Reviews: Collaborate with individual therapists to secure continued treatment.
  • Coordinate Peer to Peer Reviews: Facilitate peer to peer reviews when necessary, collaborating with the multi-disciplinary treatment team.
Requirements
  • Four Years of Experience: Minimum four years of experience in sales, call center settings, and insurance.
  • Education and Skills: Bachelor's degree in behavioral science, social work, vocational rehabilitation, sociology, public administration, or a related field. In some states, a registered nurse or licensed practical or vocational nurse may be required.
