Key Responsibilities:
In this role, the Steward/ess will operate with minimal supervision to provide direct meal service to patients in a courteous and efficient manner. You will gather feedback from patients regarding their dining experience and swiftly address any concerns. Collaboration with leadership will be essential to enhance the quality of food and nutrition services offered to patients. It is crucial to perform all duties with sensitivity to the cultural, age, developmental, and environmental safety needs of the patient populations served.
- Deliver food items, trays, and nourishment accurately to designated locations using two patient identifiers.
- Collect soiled trays and solicit patient feedback on their meals and service.
- Exhibit proper cleaning and dishwashing techniques for service ware.
- Assemble trays according to prescribed diets in a timely manner.
- Prepare food and nourishment items in accordance with standard production orders.
- Follow established procedures for meal preparation and beverage service.
- Adhere to guidelines for the proper storage of food and supplies.
- Operate, sanitize, and maintain equipment in the work area appropriately.
- Comply with policies and adapt to changes in the unit as necessary.
- Escalate issues to supervisors as needed.
- Execute duties in a mindful and safe manner.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in food service, food handling, or a related field preferred.
- Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.
- Proficiency in computer usage is required.
- Availability for flexible scheduling, including:
- Day Shift: Starting as early as 6:00 AM
- Evening Shift: Ending as late as 9:00 PM
