Mobile Clinical Team Lead and Shelter Operations Manager

Job Summary:

This is a unique opportunity to join our team as a Veterinary Clinical Manager and Lead Shelter Specialist. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for managing, scheduling, and performing veterinary technical work on our mobile unit project. You will be directly involved in anesthesia, monitoring, prep, recovery, and controlled substance management in a state-of-the-art mobile clinic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and schedule veterinary technical work on the mobile unit project
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and electronic medical records
  • Teach veterinary students in clinical settings and students involved in outreach activities
  • Manage program daily operations, including budgeting and ordering
  • Participate in data collection, research, grant reporting, outreach, and other responsibilities as designated by shelter medicine
  • Lift patients, including large breed dogs and cats in humane traps, and load supplies on and off the unit
  • Work independently, identify and solve problems, and have excellent technological skills

Requirements:

  • Vocation or Technical School training or apprenticeship required beyond High School
  • 3-5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent foundational veterinary technical skills, including anesthesia, surgical monitoring, prep, restraint, behavior, radiology, instrument management, and dentistry
  • Experience teaching, with high value placed on previous work instructing veterinary students and technical staff
  • Licensed CVT and experience with high-quality, high-volume surgery is beneficial
  • Some experience in shelter medicine is required
  • Outreach experience to the community is also encouraged
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Forms
  • Experience with electronic medical records is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fear Free or Penn Vet CALM certification
  • Experience with Clinic HQ

Special Requirements:

  • Background check required after a conditional job offer is made
