The District Director is a key leadership position at Goodwill Central Texas, responsible for overseeing the strategic operations of our district. This role requires a strong leader who can motivate and direct the activities of store managers, ensuring the success of our retail operations.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategies to optimize processing of donations and maximize sales.
- Performance Management: Deliver key performance indicators at assigned stores, including sizing, customer service, controllable contributions, sales, online sales, and retention.
- Leadership Development: Coach and develop store leaders through effective mentoring, driving employee morale through rewards and recognition.
- Operational Excellence: Inspire the team and hold accountable for store operations, scheduling, store visual presentation, and inventory levels to meet retail sales goals.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure a safe, accident-free environment for all customers and employees, maintaining compliance with established procedures and protocols.
- Talent Management: Develop a talent bench within the district, collaborating with senior leaders to establish standards for organization and visual appearance.
- Financial Management: Analyze reports, conduct site visits, and review customer/donor input to develop sales plans that maximize store performance, collaborating with senior leaders to establish annual budgets.
- Merchandising and Organization: Ensure proper merchandising and organization by adhering to all merchandising standards, assisting in creating standard operating procedures.
- Customer Service: Serve as the main point of contact for customer service issues in the district, responding promptly and effectively to all customer inquiries.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Experience: At least five years of multi-unit retail management experience with full profit and loss responsibility.
- Skills: Self-starter, highly engaged, organized, goal-focused, and strategic in planning daily, weekly, monthly, and annual priorities.
- Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, with the ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds on a regular basis.
